The 18-year-old "iCarly" star has postponed the rest of her U.S. concert tour while she recuperates from her injury, People.com reported.

"There were five passengers on the bus, and Miranda suffered a broken ankle," her publicist said in a statement issued to the celebrity news Web site. "At the time, we are told everyone will be fine. Her tour is postponed until further notice. Miranda thanks everyone for their understanding and support."

Cosgrove's tour bus struck an overturned tractor-trailer rig about 4:30 a.m. Thursday forcing the closure of westbound Interstate near Vandalia, Ill., police said.

Cosgrove is traveling around the country for her "Dancing Crazy Summer Tour" and had scheduled stops in Kettering, Ohio, Wednesday and Wichita, Kan., Friday.

Illinois State Police reopened one right lane of westbound I-70 at mile marker 73 in Fayette County -- near Brownsville about 14 miles east of Vandalia -- hours after the accident in which the bus hit part of the big rig.

Seven injuries were reported in the crash, including at least one person airlifted by helicopter to a St. Louis hospital.

RICKI LAKE: U.S. actress and TV personality Ricki Lake announced via Twitter Thursday she is engaged to Christian Evans, her boyfriend of about a year.

"Thrilled to share some happy news with you," People.com quoted Lake as writing online in a message accompanying a photo of her and Evans.

Lake starred in a string of John Waters' films, including the original "Hairspray" movie, "Cry-Baby" and "Serial Mom," and served as host of "The Ricki Lake Show" from 1993 to 2004.

She was divorced from artist Rob Sussman in 2005 after more than a decade of marriage. They have two sons -- Milo, 14, and Owen, 10.

KIRSTIE ALLEY: U.S. actress and reality TV personality Kirstie Alley is in talks to pen a book about how 60 is the new 30, the New York Post reported Thursday.

If the deal is finalized, Simon & Schuster's Atria imprint will publish the book in July 2012, the newspaper said.

"Dancing With the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba described Alley as "the new poster child for life as it should be lived at 60" when the actress competed on the show last season.

The Post said Alley's first book, "How to Lose Your Ass and Regain Your Life," was published by Rodale in 2005, but didn't sell a lot of copies.

"We are in talks with Atria for a book by Kirstie Alley, but we have not signed any papers yet," her agent, Rebecca Gradinger, told the newspaper.

Alley, who turned 60 in January, is best known for her work on TV's "Cheers" and "Veronica's Closet," as well as in the "Look Who's Talking" movies opposite John Travolta.

BERT & ERNIE: Puppets and longtime same-sex roommates Bert and Ernie will not get married in New York on "Sesame Street," the preschool show's producers said.

More than 900 people have signed a petition to see the iconic characters wed since same-sex marriage became legal in New York this summer, The Hollywood Reporter said.

"In this horrific age of LGBT kids taking their own lives, they need to know that they ARE BEAUTIFUL and their lives are worth living," the petition reads. "Aside from those that are committing suicide, the bullies that facilitate these tragedies need to learn that homophobia is NOT okay. They need to know that acceptance of their fellow human beings would indeed plant a seed of peace that will reverberate throughout the world. We are not asking that 'Sesame Street' do anything crude or disrespectful by allowing Bert & Ernie to marry. It can be done in a tasteful way. Let us teach tolerance of those that are different."

However, Sesame Workshop, the producers of the beloved children's program said there are no plans to have Bert and Ernie swap vows on the program.

"Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves," Sesame Workshop in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter Thursday. "Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation."
