Hamilton, 71, has appeared in the films "Where the Boys Are," "Love at First Bite," "Zorro, the Gay Blade" and "The Godfather, Part III," as well as the TV miniseries "Roots."

"Yes, it is true. He did have a medical procedure due to some skin cancer that was removed," Hamilton's representative Jeffrey Lane told E! News. "He has been in the sun for years and years and years, and has managed to escape sun damage. This was something that several months ago he was told he would have to have. ... It certainly isn't life threatening. He is absolutely fine."

Hamilton will soon be seen in the Broadway revival of "La Cage aux Folles."

JENNIFER LOPEZ: Jennifer Lopez is expected to serve as judge on "American Idol" for a second season, a producer for the singing competition series said Wednesday.

The singer-actress is to serve alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler on the judges' panel for Season 11, which kicks off in January.

"I believe we're still waiting for the official announcements but I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of 'American Idol,' is back for the next season," The Hollywood Reporter quoted producer Nigel Lythgoe as saying on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show.

Seacrest is also host of "Idol."

The entertainment industry trade newspaper said Lopez earned $12 million on the show last year and has been lobbying for more money, possibly as much as $35 million a year, to return.

JENNIFER ANISTON: Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston and actor-writer Justin Theroux are planning to get married and have a baby soon, friends of the couple told UsMagazine.com.

The pair have been dating for about four months and are currently on a romantic vacation in Hawaii.

Aniston, 42, was famously married to actor Brad Pitt, but they divorced in 2005. Pitt went on to have six children with his longtime partner Angelina Jolie.

Theroux, 40, broke up with Heidi Bivens, his girlfriend of 14 years, in March.

"They have talked at length about getting married and starting a family," an insider close to Aniston and Theroux told UsMagazine.com. "She is anxious for the next phase of her life and feels like this is the time."

"They both want it to happen soon," a second source said of the couple's plans to try to have a baby in the near future.

They are moving quickly, but they know the feelings they have about [each other] are different from past romances," a third friend told UsMagazine.com.

GEORGE LOPEZ: The current second season of "Lopez Tonight" will be the Los Angeles chat show's last, TBS announced Wednesday.

The Hollywood Reporter said the final episode of comedian George Lopez's series is to air Thursday.

The show's time slot was changed from 11 p.m. to 12 a.m. this past season to accommodate Conan O'Brien's new 11 p.m. show "Conan."

TMZ said low ratings for its lead-in "Conan" contributed to a drop in viewership for "Lopez Tonight" and ultimately led to the cable network's decision not to renew "Lopez Tonight" for a third season.
