LOS ANGELES, July 26 (UPI) -- Broadcast journalist Maria Shriver says her son Christopher has been discharged from the California hospital where he was treated after a surfing mishap.
The 13-year-old suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs in a boogie-boarding accident in Malibu more than a week ago.
"Blessed to be able to take Christopher out of the hospital last night," People.com reported Shriver announced via Twitter Tuesday. "What a feeling of relief to know that he's going to be fine. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. The whole family, especially Christopher, felt your love."
"Thanks for all your support for Christopher," the teen's father, actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, said in his own Twitter posting Monday night. "It means a lot to me & to him. He's doing much better & we'll have him back at full speed soon."
Schwarzenegger and Shriver are in the midst of a divorce following Schwarzenegger's admission he fathered a child during an extramarital affair with a member of the family's household staff.
