Queen not amused by headless wedding dress

LONDON, July 23 (UPI) -- Queen Elizabeth was apparently unnerved by the "creepy" Buckingham Palace display of the wedding dress worn by her new daughter-in-law, witnesses said.

The queen and the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton, Friday took a private preview tour of the exhibit, which included a headless mannequin and strong lighting that the queen reportedly called "horrible."

"It's made to look very creepy," said the queen, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The newspaper said the headless dress, which appears to float in the air, seemed to irk the queen. Kate suggested the display provided a "3D effect."

The display opened to the public Saturday and also included the veil and tiara Kate wore.
