TUPAC SHAKUR: Dexter Isaac, a man serving life in prison for an unrelated murder, admits he was involved in the 1994 robbery and shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur in New York.
Shakur survived that attack and was killed in a subsequent shooting two years later.
Hip-hop artist Biggie Smalls was shot to death in 1997.
No one has been convicted for either slaying.
Isaac told AllHipHop.com Wednesday his former friend, producer James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond, paid him $2,500 to rob and shoot Shakur in New York in 1994.
The music Web site said Isaac decided to confess to the 1994 crime to prove Rosemond's involvement and to clear his own conscience.
"I want to apologize to [Shakur's] family and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Rosemond,]" Isaac told AllHipHop.com from prison. "I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure."
The statute of limitations for the 1994 robbery and shooting has since expired and no one can be prosecuted now, the music Web site said.
Rosemond has in the past denied any involvement in the incident. He has been indicted on drug charges and is currently on the run from federal investigators, AllHipHop.com said.
ANTHONY WEINER: Former porn film actress and current exotic dancer Ginger Lee, who exchanged sexually explicit messages with U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, says he should resign.
In a scene only possible in New York or Los Angeles, Lee, represented by celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, faced dozens of reporters and television cameras Wednesday to comment on her brief cyber-relationship with the embattled New York Democrat.
She read a prepared statement at the news conference at the hallowed Friars Club in midtown Manhattan and took no questions, The New York Times said.
Her statement read: "I think that Anthony Weiner should resign, because he lied to the public and to the press for more than a week. It might never have turned into this if he had told the truth, but he kept lying. If he lied about this, I can't have much faith in him about anything else."
Weiner has taken a leave of absence from Congress to seek psychological treatment for his "sexting" problem. But Lee said while the two exchanged around 100 electronic messages since March, neither had sent the other photos. She indicated she liked Weiner's politics on healthcare and Planned Parenthood.
Weiner, who has been married for 11 months, reportedly exchanged inappropriate explicit messages with as many as six women.
ROB LOWE: Rob Lowe is to play an accused wife killer in a TV version of Joseph Hosey's book "Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Drew Peterson," The Hollywood Reporter said.
Lowe has signed on to play Peterson, a former Chicago-area police officer charged with the death of his third wife after the disappearance of his fourth spouse, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
Peterson has denied any wrongdoing and is awaiting trial.
Lowe's small-screen credits include "Parks and Recreation," "Brothers & Sisters" and "The West Wing."
BEYONCE: Beyonce and Brad Paisley have been booked to perform during Macy's Fourth of July fireworks show in New York, NBC announced.
Presiding over the event will be Nick Lachey, host of the network's competition series "The Sing-Off."
Billed as the nation's largest Independence Day fireworks display, the Macy's show will once again take place over the Hudson River. More than 40,000 firework shells are expected to light up the sky for America's 235th birthday party, NBC said in a news release.
"Gift of Freedom" will be the theme of this year's pyrotechnics and it will pay special tribute to the 125th anniversary year of the Statue of Liberty.
