SAN JOSE, Calif., May 23 (UPI) -- The Philip Treacy-designed hat Britain's Princess Beatrice wore to her cousin Prince William's wedding has sold for about $130,000 on eBay.
The pink "fascinator" made headlines around the world last month when Beatrice, the 22-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, wore it to William's wedding to Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London.
UsMagazine.com said the eBay auction for the hat, which ended Sunday, raised $130,000 for UNICEF United Kingdom and Children in Crisis through Beatrice's Little Bee Initiative.
"[The hat] has its own personality, and I am so happy that we have raised the most incredible amount of money and can make an even bigger change for the lives of some of the most vulnerable children across the world," Beatrice said in a statement Sunday.
