AMY POEHLER: Time Magazine released a quirky list Thursday of the world's "100 most influential people" headed by a young Egyptian Google executive.
Wael Ghonim, 30, who became a spokesman for thousands of protesters in recent months, was followed by Nobel Prize-winning left wing economist Joseph Stiglitz, Reed Hastings, the chief executive officer of Netflix, and Amy Poehler, who played Hillary Clinton on "Saturday Night Live" during the 2008 presidential campaign to Tina Fey's Sarah Palin. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was the highest-ranking real politician on the list, but she came after Geoffrey Canada, the New York school reformer, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, and game designer Peter Vesterbacka.
Julian Assange, the computer hacker turned WikiLeaks founder, rounded out the top 10.
U.S. President Barack Obama was on the list behind Vice President Joe Biden, first lady Michelle Obama, two congresswomen -- Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn. -- and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, not to mention Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth.
Richard Stengel, Time's managing editor, said in an essay on the "democratization of influence" the list was put together after a series of shattering events, including the Arab protests and the Japanese tsunami.
"You can sometimes impute influence by reverse engineering events: Who was responsible for triggering these extraordinary movements? Wael Ghonim's plaintive posts on Facebook helped spark the Egyptian revolution. Fathi Terbil's detention helped ignite the revolt in Libya. Katsunobu Sakurai denounced the lethargy of Japanese authorities in helping earthquake victims," he wrote.
CHARLIE SHEEN: Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen lost his bid for full custody of his twin toddler sons by boasting about his drug use, sources told TMZ.
Sheen, who shares custody of the boys with his estranged wife Brooke Mueller, petitioned a Los Angeles judge this week to strip Mueller of her custody rights after she checked into rehab following a recent drug and alcohol binge, Fox News said.
However, sources familiar with the hearing told TMZ Judge Hank Goldberg denied Sheen's application for full custody because of his erratic behavior, including his public admissions that he abused drugs.
"Judge Hank Goldberg was well aware Brooke had relapsed into drug use, but the judge was equally disturbed by Charlie's substance abuse and the fact that he bragged about it," a source told the Web site.
Goldberg "felt both Brooke and Charlie had problems, but the twins were adequately protected by the nannies, relatives and other support staff," the insider added.
Sheen and Mueller will continue to share custody of the boys under an arrangement reached last month.
Fox News said neither Sheen nor Mueller discussed the case as they left court Tuesday.
The couple were married in 2008 and filed for divorce in November. Their marriage will be officially ended next month.
Sheen was fired from TV's "Two and a Half Men" in March. He is currently touring with a one-man show he calls "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option," which has been savaged by critics.
STEVEN SODERBERGH: The mother of Steven Soderbergh's 5-month-old daughter has settled her paternity suit against the married filmmaker, the Australian woman's lawyer said.
Soderbergh, the Oscar-winning director of "Sex, Lies and Videotape," "Traffic," "Erin Brockovich" and "Ocean's Eleven," fathered the baby with Frances Lawrencina Anderson while he was separated from Jules Asner, who he married in 2003.
Soderbergh and Anderson reportedly conceived the child when he was in Sydney directing his play, "Tot Mom," in late 2009.
"The matter is resolved," Anderson's lawyer, Raoul Felder, told the New York Post Wednesday about the paternity suit. "On to the next movie."
Soderbergh's attorney, Bernard Clair, described the child-support agreement as "amicable" but declined to offer any details.
"Both parties preserved their integrity," the Post quoted Clair as saying.
JANE KRAKOWSKI: Jane Krakowski's publicist says the television actress has given birth to her first child, a son named Bennett Robert Godley, in New York.
Krakowski, 42, is best known for her work on TV's "Ally McBeal" and "30 Rock." She is engaged to British clothing designer Robert Godley.
UsMagazine.com said Wednesday the couple's baby was born April 13.
"Bennett is an amazing, healthy, sweet boy and we are both just crazy in love with him," Krakowski told the Web site.
