MEL GIBSON: Actor-director Mel Gibson pleaded no contest in a Los Angeles court to one misdemeanor count of domestic violence.

In exchange for his plea, the "Braveheart" and "Lethal Weapon" star was sentenced Friday to three years probation, a 12-month domestic violence counseling program, community service and various fines.

The misdemeanor stems from an altercation the actor-director allegedly had in January 2010 with his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, with whom he has a toddler-age daughter.

People.com reported Gibson said nothing Friday aside from entering his plea to the judge and acknowledging he understood the proceedings.

"He's entering his plea because it's in the best interest of his children," his attorney Blair Berk said.

"Ms. Grigorieva will now concentrate on co-parenting Lucia, resuming her charitable work for the children of Chernobyl and moving forward with her life," the Russian musician's attorneys said in a statement issued to People.com.

Gibson became a polarizing figure in Hollywood after making anti-Semitic remarks to a police officer during a July 2006 drunken driving arrest.

Audio of Gibson allegedly uttering racial slurs during the heated argument with Grigorieva hit the Internet last summer, further tarnishing Gibson's reputation.

JEWEL: Jewel's publicist says the pregnant recording star is "fine" after a car crash in Stephenville, Texas.

"The singer was taken to the hospital and current medical tests conducted indicate that she and the baby are doing fine," Jewel's representative told TMZ Friday.

The Web site cited sources at the scene as saying a volunteer fire truck collided into the passenger side of Jewel's car.

No other details were immediately available.

The singer, who is the co-host of Bravo's upcoming reality competition show "Going Platinum," married rodeo star Ty Murray in 2008. They announced in January they are expecting their first child.

JON CRYER: U.S. actor Jon Cryer joked during an appearance on "Conan" that what Charlie Sheen said about him is true -- he is a troll.

Sheen, who has long battled an addiction to drugs, has raised eyebrows for his outrageous remarks during the past two weeks. During one rant, he called Cryer, his former "Two and a Half Men" co-star, a "troll" because, he claimed, Cryer hadn't reached out to him after he was fired from the show for his erratic behavior.

Cryer has not publicly commented on Sheen's dismissal or the fact that Sheen's behavior prompted the sitcom's producers to shelve the remainder of this season. It is unclear whether the show will return next season.

Cryer last week joked on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" about working as a temp in her office because he needs the job.

When he appeared on "Conan" Thursday night, E! News said Cryer quipped, "The fact is, I am a troll."

"It's not something I like to talk about. My parents don't even know," Cryer said. "It turns out there's not a lot of tolerance for people like me, especially in Hollywood. You don't know how much time and money I've spent on electrolysis and hair dye and reconstructive surgery so that I can look like this."

E! News said Cryer named some of Hollywood's other trolls, including Paul Giamatti, Helen Mirren and Conan O'Brien's sidekick, Andy Richter.

"You son of a bitch," Richter quipped as he was "outed."

OLIVIA WILDE: Actress Olivia Wilde has filed for divorce in Los Angeles from her filmmaker husband Tao Ruspoli after eight years of marriage, records show.

"Irreconcilable differences" were cited as the reason for the split, UsMagazine.com said Friday.

Wilde's publicist confirmed the couple separated last month.

"Olivia got married really young. She's done a lot of growing since then, just like anyone would. ... They've just grown in different directions," a source told UsMagazine.com.

Wilde, 27, is best known for her work in TV's "House" and in the movies "Year One" and "Tron."

Ruspoli, 35, has directed the films "Fix," "Behind the Wheel" and "Being in the World."
