PARIS, March 2 (UPI) -- Celebrity fashion designer John Galliano has left Paris and is seeking help at a U.S. rehab for his alcohol addiction, The New York Times said.

The French fashion house Christian Dior fired Galliano this week after a video surfaced online allegedly showing the British designer making anti-Semitic remarks while drunk in a Paris bar.

The Times said Galliano is believed to be heading to The Meadows, the treatment center in Wickenberg, Ariz., where singer Elton John and fashion designer Donatella Versace were treated for their substance-abuse problems.

Natalie Portman, the Israeli-born actress who won the Best Actress Oscar Sunday for her work in "Black Swan," also is the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume. She said Tuesday she is "deeply shocked and disgusted by the video" and will never work with Galliano again.
