JANE RUSSELL: U.S. actress and former pinup girl Jane Russell died Monday at her home in Santa Maria, Calif., her son said. She was 89.

Her son, Buck Waterfield, did not disclose the cause of death, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Born Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell in Bemidji, Minn., the actress is famous for her work in the films "The Outlaw," "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," and "The Pale Face."

Her screen credits also include "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes," "The Revolt of Mamie Stover," "Young Widow," "His Kind of Woman," "The Las Vegas Story," "The French Line," "The Fuzzy Pink Night Gown," "Fate Is the Hunter," "Born Losers" and "Darker Than Amber."

Russell also was well-known in the 1970s as a spokesmodel for Playtex bras, starring in TV commercials for the "Cross Your Heart" campaign.

She was active in several charities, as well, The Hollywood Reporter said.

CHARLIE SHEEN: U.S. actor Charlie Sheen says he's heard the rumor about John Stamos possibly taking over for him on "Two and a Half Men" and thinks it's a bad idea.

"I like John, but he don't have what I have and the show sucks if he's on it. Sorry!" Sheen told TV's "Access Hollywood" in an interview to air Tuesday and Wednesday.

Stamos also tried to silence the buzz late last week via Twitter.

"contrary to the rumors, i am not replacing charlie sheen on two and half men. however, martin sheen has asked me to be his son," Stamos Tweeted.

CBS and Warner Bros. announced last week they were halting production indefinitely on "Two and a Half Men" after Sheen gave a rambling radio interview during which he repeatedly slammed show co-creator Chuck Lorre and talked up his own importance on the series.

Sheen has long battled addictions to drugs and alcohol, and his TV show was on hiatus when the actor gave his scathing radio interview. Until then, the show had been scheduled to resume production this week.

The actor has said he intends to sue the producers for $300 million for breach of contract.

In a news release announcing the interview, "Access Hollywood" said Sheen also talks about his series co-star Jon Cryer "not having his back."

Cryer has not publicly commented on the current situation at work.

KIRSTIE ALLEY: Ralph Macchio, Kirstie Alley and Wendy Williams are among those to compete in the next edition of "Dancing with the Stars" in Los Angeles, ABC announced.

The network revealed the names of the show's Season 12 cast members during Monday's episode of "The Bachelor."

Also slated to battle it out on the dance floor with their as-yet-unnamed professionally trained partners are Kendra Wilkinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Hines Ward, Petra Nemcova, Chelsea Kane, Mike Catherwood, Romeo and Chris Jericho.

The new season is to kick off March 21.

GRETCHEN MOL: Gretchen Mol's publicist says the U.S. actress has given birth to her second child, a daughter.

Mol, 38, married "Paranormal Activity 2" director Kip Williams, 42, in 2004. The couple are also the parents of a 3-year-old son.

"Gretchen gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Feb. 17," the "Boardwalk Empire" star's representative told UsMagazine.com Monday. "Winter Morgan Williams joins her big brother Ptolemy."
