NOTTINGHAM, England, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- A British brewer says it is finalizing a custom beer to be poured at pubs across the realm when Prince William marries Kate Middleton this spring.

Castle Rock Brewery in Nottingham plans to release its "Kiss Me Kate" ale at its branded watering holes a month before the April 29 ceremony, which will give lads and lasses plenty of time to get into the spirit of the big event.

The commemorative beer will be top-notch, the Nottingham Post said Saturday.

"Kiss Me Kate will be elegant, tasteful and British to the core," said head brewer Adrian Redgrove said. "It will be brewed to 5 percent, pale in color and we're sure it'll be the ideal way to toast the couple's future happiness."

Wise guys at the brewery kidded the Post that they would be happy to host the royal wedding reception with its popular menu of bangers and mash, fried fish and sticky toffee pudding.

"If the royal couple felt a little bit tired after the sumptuous banquet of proper grub, malt sacks can be arranged to make a comfortable bed," said commercial manager Charlotte Blomely.
