Edwards says he's not engaged to Hunter

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Former U.S. Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., is denying a tabloid report claiming he is engaged to Rielle Hunter.

Edwards, who ran for president in 2007, and his wife, Elizabeth, separated after he fathered a daughter, who is now 3, with Hunter.

Elizabeth Edwards died of cancer last month.

The National Enquirer has since reported John Edwards and Hunter are now making wedding plans, however, Edwards is denying the story.

"John Edwards says the reports are false and he is not engaged," a family representative told UsMagazine.com.
