LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Singer, actress Zooey Deschanel accused shoemaker Steve Madden of stiffing her on an endorsement deal, a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles indicates.

Deschanel claims Madden owes her $2 million under a deal signed with the company in August, The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.

In suit filed Friday, Deschanel, who appeared in "500 Days of Summer," claims her agent negotiated an oral contract with Madden for the use of her name and likeness in their advertising.

The pact was later renegotiated to $1.5 million; however Deschanel says she was never paid.

Madden had no immediate comment, the Reporter said.
