Brooke Shields breaks hand during rehearsal

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Actress Brooke Shields broke her hand while getting ready for a stage show in Los Angeles and is now wearing a cast.

"Brooke broke her hand during rehearsal for the musical 'Leap of Faith,'" her representative told People magazine Saturday. "The cast will be off before previews on Sept. 11. It was a minor break and did not affect the production schedule."

The 45-year-old actress is starring in the show with Raul Esparaza. "Leap of Faith" opens Oct. 3 at the Ahmanson Theatre.
