Stars flock to Clinton N.Y. birthday bash

NEW YORK, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Paul McCartney, Katie Couric, Christie Brinkley and Jimmy Buffett were among the guests at former President Bill Clinton's 64th birthday party in New York.

The New York Post said Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton helped throw the bash for her husband Sunday at the Water Mill home of Bill's longtime aide Doug Band and his wife, Lily.

Also on the guest list for the party, which was catered by Jason Weiner of Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton, were fashion designer Vera Wang, "Today Show" host Matt Lauer and Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein, the Post said.

Bill Clinton served as president of the United States from 1993 to 2001.
