TORONTO, July 4 (UPI) -- Officials at Toronto's St. James Cathedral had to issue tickets to Sunday services to cope with demand during British Queen Elizabeth II's appearance.

Elizabeth and her husband Philip, the duke of Edinburgh, continued their royal visit to Canada Sunday with a three-day stop in Toronto, beginning the day at St. James cathedral before heading off to Woodbine Racetrack for the Queen's Plate horserace, the (Toronto) Star reported Sunday.

The queen's visit to Canada began Monday in Halifax. She honored Canada Day Thursday in Ottawa, where a crowd of 100,000 showed up to celebrate.

On Saturday, the queen and her husband visited the site of the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg and presented a cornerstone for the building that was taken from the monastery at Runnymede, where King John of England signed the Magna Carta in 1215.

The royal couple are scheduled to return to London Tuesday.
