CHICAGO, May 8 (UPI) -- A Nigerian national working out of a small Chicago apartment obtained credit cards in the names of several Hollywood celebrities, police said.
Adedamola Olatunji, 29, allegedly used a credit card in the name of movie star Ben Stiller to pay for an online dating service, the Chicago Tribune reported.
A source told the Tribune that Citibank reported a possible fraud to the U.S. Postal Service after cards in the names of Stiller, actor David Duchovny and director Paul Haggis were sent to Olatunji's South Side apartment. An inspector posing as a letter carrier delivered two more cards last month in the names of writer-directors Noah Baumbach and Paul Schrader.
The source said Olatunji claimed to be Schrader and signed for the other card as well, saying "Noah" was in the back room.
Olatunji allegedly told investigators he got personal information on Stiller and the others and then called to report a lost card.
"Obviously, the bank has some issues they've got to straighten out," the source said. "The guy calls up with a foreign accent and says: 'Hey, I'm Ben Stiller, I lost my card. Can you send me a new one?' Oh. Sure, why not?"
