NEW YORK, April 28 (UPI) -- The Broadway production of "God of Carnage" is to end its run in June, the stage comedy's producers said.

The best play Tony Award-winner will have its final performance at Manhattan's Jacobs Theatre June 27, the date through which the current cast is contracted to play.

"God of Carnage" opened March 22, 2009, and recently marked its 400th performance on Broadway.

"We are incredibly proud and thrilled with the success of Yasmina (Reza's) brilliant play, Matthew Warchus' superb direction, and the acting talents of our three amazing casts," the producers said in a statement Monday. "'God of Carnage' has delighted thousands of audiences and we couldn't be happier."

The original Broadway cast starred Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden.

The second cast starred Christine Lahti, Annie Potts, Jimmy Smits and Ken Stott, and the current cast, who began performances last month, stars Dylan Baker, Jeff Daniels, Lucy Liu and Janet McTeer.

The play deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it.
