NEW YORK, March 6 (UPI) -- A chauffer said he has withdrawn his complaint against Naomi Campbell, saying he "overreacted" to a New York incident involving the British model.
Limousine driver Miodrag Mejdina said in a statement he withdrew his police complaint against Campbell, who he accused of hitting him as he drove the supermodel through New York this week, The Times of London reported Friday.
"On March 2nd, I had an argument with Naomi Campbell, I got angry and overreacted. It was a misunderstanding and I regret involving the police," said Mejdina, who claimed the incident happened after Campbell had an argument with her boyfriend.
"This whole thing has been blown out of proportion and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing that to happen."
Campbell, 39, appeared to accept Mejdina's apology, saying she is simply attempting to put the incident behind her.
"I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized. I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on," Campbell offered in a statement.
