NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Two parades through New Orleans are to mark the beginning of the last seven days of the city's Mardi Gras festival.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune said the Druids procession is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, while the Thor parade is to start at 7 p.m. The Mardi Gras festival will end on Feb. 16.
An estimated 800,000 people reportedly turned out Tuesday night for the New Orleans Saints' championship parade, which featured appearances by team members and coaches.
The Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday's Super Bowl.
