LONDON, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- The death of Susan Morgan, a British novelist who wrote under the names Zoe Barnes and Sue Dyson, has been declared a suicide, officials said.
The Daily Mail quoted a Gloucestershire coroner as saying Morgan, 52, took an overdose of painkillers while on vacation on the Isle of Man last October.
The author of 45 books is believed to have been distraught over the breakup of her marriage after eight years and because she was suffering from health problems, the newspaper said.
An autopsy conducted on her body suggested she died of depressed respiratory function due to the toxic level of opiates in her blood.
"All her stories were honest and believable with flawed but honorable heroines any woman would want to call a friend," a spokesman for her publisher Piatkus told the Daily Mail. "She will be sorely missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of working with her through her career as a novelist."
