LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Jeff Conaway has been hospitalized in Los Angeles after falling down stairs and breaking his hip and arm, and fracturing his neck, his girlfriend told TMZ.
Conaway, 59, is best known for his work in the 1978 movie musical "Grease" and on the sit-com "Taxi," which ran from 1978-83. The actor, who has long battled an addiction to drugs, recently appeared on the reality show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
His girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi, told TMZ the actor also suffered a brain hemorrhage in Monday's mishap.
"Jeff thinks these are his final days," Lizzi told E! News exclusively Tuesday. "The story is very complicated, which is why I have to tell it."
Conaway's agent, Jay Schachter, added the actor is "in surgery today," E! said.
There was no word on his current condition.
