"Fiona and I were watching it and saw this complete disaster and right away we just knew -- we have to do something. Went to bed with that feeling and woke up and the feeling was still there and so we got to work on it," Diamond said.

Tickets for the benefit event are $20 with the Red Cross receiving the majority of the concert's proceeds, Diamond said.

The CBC said the Haitian government estimated as many as 200,000 people may have been killed in the 7.0-magnitude quake.

"She's brilliant. She's a very gracious, very smart lady, and her intent and her agenda has always been to help the community and be plugged in and be involved,'' Hogan said of the Republican official. "Inside or outside that wrestling world that the McMahons have created, Linda McMahon is a great person."

Hogan, who earned fame with the World Wrestling Federation, had less flattering words for Vince McMahon and World Wrestling Entertainment.
