LOS ANGELES, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- The cause of death for actress Brittany Murphy will not be known until toxicology results are completed, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office said Monday.

The medical examiner completed an autopsy Monday but said it could take as much as two months to determine officially the cause of death, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Murphy was vomiting and taking prescription medications for flu-like symptoms before she died in Los Angeles Sunday, sources told TMZ.

The "Clueless," "Girl, Interrupted" and "Sin City" star was discovered unresponsive in her shower, and then taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Officials said she died after going into cardiac arrest, but the circumstances of her death are under investigation. She was 32.

TMZ cited unnamed sources as saying Murphy had complained to family she hadn't felt well for several days leading up to her death.

Murphy's mother, Sharon, told paramedics the actress suffered from diabetes but the entertainment news Web site said the condition is not believed to have caused her death.

"We come out, we look at everything, any prescription meds we do take. We will have to analyze everything and go from there. It appears to be natural at this time. She has a medical history and there might be some other issues, but I can't elaborate," Ed Winter, chief investigator for the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, told E! News Sunday outside of Murphy's home.

Although Murphy had denied for years rumors claiming she had an eating disorder and abused drugs, People.com quoted unnamed friends as saying she was under tremendous pressure to meet Hollywood's standards, especially regarding body image.

"She was drastically different when she entered the business," one friend told the magazine. "Full of life, determined. But over the past few years, (she went) downhill. There was always something off, something in the way. She had a lot of inner demons."
