ISTANBUL, Turkey, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Dozens of ancient Persian artworks and inscriptions are set to go on exhibit in Istanbul, Turkey, a media group said.
PRESS TV said Sunday, citing a report from Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, that Turkey's Topkapi Palace Museum will begin its "10,000 Years of Iran Culture, Art and Civilization" on Tuesday.
Ottoman leaders occupied the Topkapi Museum for nearly 400 years while in power and the site is home to numerous historical items ranging from books and maps to miniatures and paintings.
As part of the three-month exhibition, the museum will display 12 historical inscriptions, along with 58 prehistoric and 48 Islamic artworks.
Other Turkish museums will also present 100 Persian artifacts during the Istanbul exhibition, PRESS TV reported.
Among the Persian glass works, textiles and clay tablets set to be on display will be works from archaeological and historical sites such as Choqa Zanbil, Marlik, Sialk and Susa.
