Husband: Celine Dion is not pregnant
MONTREAL, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Celine Dion's husband says the Canadian pop star is not pregnant with their second child as they initially thought.
People.com said the 41-year-old singer's doctor announced she was pregnant via in vitro fertilization early in the process, however, the transfer of embryos in August and October did not result in a successful pregnancy.
"Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn't the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked," Dion's 67-year-old husband Rene Angelil told the Canadian newspaper Journal de Montreal.
Angelil said he and his wife plan to keep trying for another child.
"We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use (IVF.) The process can be long and arduous," he said. "But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever."
The couple, who have been married since 1994, are the parents of an 8-year-old son, Rene-Charles.
