ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A 4-year-old girl had surgery after injuring her neck, head and face in a golf-cart mishap at Disney's Fort Wilderness in Florida, officials said.

The girl was seriously injured at the resort during the weekend when she was thrown from a golf cart she was riding in with her father, Charles Wickt, and partially pinned underneath, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported.

Wickt told officers he swerved to avoid another cart driving toward them without lights, causing his vehicle to overturn, the Sentinel said.

The girl was listed in stable condition at Arnold Palmer Hospital and the incident is under investigation, the newspaper said.
