Polanski's bail bid denied again
ZURICH, Switzerland, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Imprisoned French-born film director Roman Polanski is not to be released on bail pending extradition, the Swiss Criminal Court said Tuesday.
Polanski's request to be granted bail was first denied two weeks ago by a judge in Bern, Switzerland.
Polanski, 76, was arrested Sept. 26 in Zurich in connection with a 1977 child-sex case in Los Angeles.
The famous filmmaker, who lives in France but was in Switzerland to attend a film festival, has not traveled to the United States since he pleaded guilty in a Los Angeles court to having unlawful sex with a minor and then fled the country before he could be sentenced. He was accused of drugging and raping Samantha Geimer when she was 13.
Polanski's lawyers have alleged misconduct on the part of the Los Angeles criminal justice system at the time of the plea deal. They are fighting extradition from Switzerland to the United States.
CNN said the Swiss Criminal Court denied Polanski's bid for bail Tuesday, explaining it feels revoking Polanski's passport and ordering him to report daily to the police would not ensure the filmmaker wouldn't again go on the run.
Polanski reportedly underwent medical tests at a Zurich hospital during the weekend. It was unclear what the tests are for or when he will be transferred back to prison.
Beyonce's Malaysia show postponed
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Beyonce has postponed this weekend's concert in Kuala Lumpur after the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party called for its cancellation.
The BBC quoted the group of Islamic conservatives as denouncing the singer's flirty performing style and revealing stage costumes as "immoral," and claiming a Beyonce concert in Kuala Lumpur would mean the country condones "Western sexy performances."
"The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons," organizers Marctensia said in a statement issued to the British broadcaster.
No rescheduled date for Sunday's concert was announced.
Beyonce canceled a planned 2007 concert in the country because she didn't want to adhere to its strict dress code, which includes covering up from the shoulders to the knees.
Singers Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani, however, have performed in Malaysia wearing attire deemed acceptable, the BBC noted.

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The Irish rock band U2 said on its Web site its sold-out concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California will be streamed free, in full and live on YouTube.
Sunday's show will be the first concert of this size to be streamed live, the group said.

"We are always looking for new ways to connect fans around the world with their favorite artists, and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that."
Osbourne injures foot during 'DWTS'
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- British singer and TV personality Kelly Osbourne was taken to California's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after injuring her foot on "Dancing with the Stars."
E! News said the buckle of Osbourne's shoe was pushed into her foot as she performed a paso doble with her professional partner, Louis van Amstel, on Monday's edition of the show.
When Osbourne later took part in a group number, she was barefoot.
"She is at the hospital right now to take an X-ray and an MRI to make sure she will be OK to dance. Kelly will keep me updated on her prognosis," van Amstel told E! News Monday night.
