BALTIMORE, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- The Baltimore Museum of Art is presenting an exhibit marking the 200th birthday of gothic literature giant Edgar Allan Poe.
The Boston-born author of "The Pit and the Pendulum," "The Masque of the Red Death," "The Black Cat," "The Raven" and "The Tell-Tale Heart" lived in Baltimore for a few years and was buried there after he died of various illnesses in 1849.

"Edgar Allan Poe: A Baltimore Icon" features numerous prints, daguerreotypes, drawings and illustrated books with portraits of the author, as well as illustrations for his famously macabre tales, the Baltimore Examiner said.
The show is to run through Jan. 17.
