Abdul, Lambert to announce AMA nominees

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Singers Paula Abdul, Adam Lambert and Snoop Dogg are set to announce the nominees for the upcoming 2009 American Music Awards, ABC said.

The nominees are to be revealed at a press conference at California's Beverly Hills Hotel Oct. 13.

Awards will be presented in the Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/Rhythm & Blues and Rap/Hip Hop categories as well as the Latin Music, Alternative Music, Contemporary Inspirational and Adult Contemporary categories.

A total of 20 awards are to be handed out Nov. 22 in a show to air live on the ABC television network.
