Simple games lead to $1M prize on new show

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- NBC has announced plans for a new family-friendly U.S. competition series called, "Perfect 10," in which contestants vie for a $1 million cash prize.

The in-studio game show, consisting of eight one-hour episodes, was designed for both American audiences and the international marketplace. It features 10 "deceptively simple games that require savvy contestants to complete under pressure," the network said.

The announcement was made Wednesday by Paul Telegdy, executive vice president of alternative programming at NBC and Universal Media Studios.

"'Perfect 10' features easy-to-replicate challenges that the audience can play and practice at home," Telegdy said in a statement. "These fun and unique games will entertain and engage even when the show isn't on TV."

"This new show creates a new kind of intuitive gaming challenge that has rarely been seen on television before," said Yvonne Pilkington, vice president of format sales for international television productions at NBC Universal. "However, like all the best format ideas it is incredibly simple and relatable. It also represents NBCU's international focus in expanding our global business profile and integrates perfectly with our projected growth strategy."

The network did not say who would serve as host of the program or when it is scheduled to debut.
