Polanski accuser has no comment on arrest

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- The U.S. woman French-born filmmaker Roman Polanski pleaded guilty to having sex with when she was 13 says she has no comment on his recent arrest.

Polanski, 76, was arrested last weekend in Switzerland on an outstanding U.S. warrant in connection with the 1977 case.

The famous film director, who lives in France, has not traveled to the United States since he pleaded guilty in a Los Angeles court to having unlawful sex with a minor and then fled the country before he could be sentenced. He was accused of drugging and raping Samantha Geimer when she was 13.

"I have been advised by my attorney not to make any comments at this time, so I currently have no comment on his arrest," Geimer told E! News exclusively from her home in Hawaii. "I can, however, tell you that I have reporters parked outside my home, harassing my family and neighbors, and it is extremely unpleasant."

Geimer, who reportedly reached an out-of-court settlement with Polanski years ago, has said numerous times that she doesn't think he should serve prison time for what he did to her. She has also emphasized she wants to put the past behind her.
