Dennis Hopper taken to NY hospital

NEW YORK, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- U.S screen icon Dennis Hopper has been transported by ambulance to a New York hospital, sources told TV's "Entertainment Tonight."

Hopper, 73, has appeared in the classic films "Rebel Without a Cause," "True Grit," "Easy Rider," "Apocalypse Now" and "Hoosiers." He currently stars in the TV drama "Crash."

"ET" said he was taken to a Manhattan emergency room Wednesday where he was seen wearing an oxygen mask.

The report did not say what led up to the trip to the ER.
