LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A private memorial is being planned for the late film star Patrick Swayze at Sony Studios in Culver City, Calif.

The actor -- who is famous for his work in the films "The Outsiders," "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost," as well as TV's "North & South" and "The Beast" -- died of pancreatic cancer Sept. 14 at the age of 57. He reportedly was cremated, although the whereabouts of his ashes are not publicly known.

E! News said the event is to take place Sunday and mourners are being asked to donate to either the Patrick Swayze Pancreas Cancer Research Fund or Stand Up to Cancer, in lieu of flowers.
