LONDON, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- The British throne has moved to stop publication of a book about the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson's undercover trip to a Turkish orphanage, sources say.
Queen Elizabeth's legal team has demanded that an ITN journalist, who along with Ferguson last year filmed a documentary in which she and her 19-year-old daughter Princess Eugenie secretly entered a Turkish orphanage, drop plans to publish a book about the exploit, unnamed sources told The Sunday Times of London.
The legal firm, Farrer & Co., reportedly wrote to ITN's Chris Rogers on behalf of the duchess last month claiming she holds the copyright over much of the book's source material, including Rogers' notes. The newspaper said Ferguson has stopped cooperating with Rogers in the wake of Turkish protests, in which Ankara contends Ferguson broke privacy laws by sneaking into the orphanage after being denied permission to enter.
The documentary, titled "Duchess and Daughters: Their Secret Mission," was broadcast 11 months ago.
"Toddlers and teenagers alike were confined, many tied by hands or ankles to metal bars," Rogers said of the conditions in the Saray rehabilitation center.
