
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Tawny Kitaen, who appeared in the reality show "Celebrity Rehab," has been arrested for driving while intoxicated, police say.
Sgt. Shontel Sherwood of the Newport Beach, Calif., Police Department said Kitaen, 48, was taken into custody around 3 p.m. Saturday near the John Wayne Airport, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported.
Sherwood told the broadcaster that Kitaen was administered a field sobriety test after officers spotted her driving in her Range Rover. Bail was reportedly set at $2,500.
KTLA said Kitaen is probably best known for appearing in several 1980's heavy metal music videos and as a television actress in such shows as "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" and "Eek! The Cat!" More recently she appeared in the VH1 Network's "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
The broadcaster said Kitaen was charged with possessing cocaine in her San Juan Capistrano, Calif., home in 2006 and entered a six-month rehabilitation program in exchange for the dismissal of a felony charges.
