NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- A dog named after U.S. TV comedian Stephen Colbert that entered a cutest dog competition has an unfair advantage, another dog's owner says.

Cara McCool said her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Mozart, or MoMo to her friends, is attempting to aid New Orleans recovery efforts by winning All American Pet Brands' Cutest Dog Competition, but challenger Stephen Colbert el dos is standing in the way, CNN reported Saturday.

"It's just unfortunate. MoMo is named after a famous person too, but he's dead," McCool said of the Pomeranian Chihuahua mixed-breed puppy named after the Comedy Central personality.

More than 60,000 people have entered the cutest dog contest by uploading photos of their canines onto the contest's Web site. A total of 12 finalists will be selected from those entries to compete for the contest's $1 million grand prize.

McCool said if her name, and MoMo's, is announced as the grand prize winner on Thanksgiving Day, she will use her winnings to help New Orleans recover from Hurricane Katrina.

"I already support them, but I can't afford that much because I'm a piano teacher," McCool told CNN.
