MARFA, Texas, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Actor Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, were arrested in Texas Thursday after allegedly failing to pay a $10,000 hotel bill in California, police said.

Quaid, 58 -- the brother of actor Dennis Quaid -- is a former cast member on "Saturday Night Live," whose big-screen credits include the "National Lampoon Vacation" movies, "The Paper," "Kingpin" and "Brokeback Mountain." He was nominated for a supporting actor Oscar for "The Last Detail."

"All I can tell you is they're waiting to see the judge," Gracie Parras, an administrator for the Presidio County Sheriff's Department, told People.com.

The Quaids reportedly were arrested in rural Marfa, Texas, for allegedly skipping out on a more than $10,000tab at a Santa Barbara, Calif., hotel.

People.com said Quaid's publicist was not immediately available for comment.
