Jesse Metcalfe set for 'Desperate' return

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Actor Jesse Metcalfe has signed up to reprise his role of John Rowland on the U.S. television series "Desperate Housewives," ABC said Monday.

The show is to begin its sixth season Sunday. Former co-star Metcalfe rejoins the cast in the episode airing Oct. 11.

"A chance encounter reunites Gaby with her sexy ex-lover and gardener, John Rowland; Bree contemplates a weekend getaway with Karl; Lynette and Tom break the news to their kids that she's pregnant again; and Susan is convinced Angie's son is responsible for her daughter's attack," ABC said in a news release.

"Desperate Housewives" stars Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria Parker.
