RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The North Carolina town where Patrick Swayze filmed much of his iconic 1987 movie, "Dirty Dancing," is planning a memorial for the late actor.

The State reported that residents of Lake Lure, which doubled in numerous scenes for "Dirty Dancing's" Catskills, N.Y., resort setting, will honor Swayze at a memorial service Saturday evening.

The event is free, however, attendees are being asked to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the newspaper said.
