NEW YORK, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Kate Gosselin's hair stylist says the U.S. reality TV personality and mother of eight children was excited about the new look she debuted on "The View."

Gosselin has been in the spotlight in recent months due to her impending divorce from her husband and "Jon & Kate Plus 8" co-star, Jon Gosselin.

When she served as a guest co-host on "The View" Tuesday, she sported wavy hair, not her usual do -- short and spikey on top and long and straight in the front.

"Isn't it cute?" she asked the other "View" panelists -- Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters, Joy Behr and Sherri Shepherd.

"Kate is a beautiful woman and I wanted to expand on her already famous locks and try something new, fun and whimsical," Lavette Slater told Usmagazine.com. "Kate was excited and gave me carte blanche to experiment and create a new look. ... As a mother of eight children, you don't always have time to style your hair and this was the perfect opportunity to show a different look for Kate."
