LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- The U.S. cable television network Encore said Tuesday it plans to celebrate the career of the late Patrick Swayze by screening several of his films.
Swayze died Monday of pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
Encore said it plans to air "City of Joy," "Youngblood" and "Point Break," starting Saturday afternoon.
Spike TV also announced it would show "Road House" Saturday night in Swayze's honor.
"Patrick lived a hundred lifetimes in one," Rob Lowe, Swayze's co-star in "Youngblood" and "The Outsiders," told People magazine Monday. "I will remember him for that, and I will remember him for how much he loved his wife, Lisa. He was such an intense actor, so full of passion and vigor. He definitely made the most out of it. It's a sad day."
"He was a beautiful person, an artist," Keanu Reeves, who shared the screen with Swayze in "Point Break," told the magazine. "Patrick, he just wanted to experience life and for his work, he wanted to take the opportunity of the film and it gave him that sense."
