LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- This month's planned Michael Jackson tribute concert in Vienna will now take place in London in June 2010, organizer Jermaine Jackson said Friday.

Jackson earlier this week held a press conference and announced the lineup for the concert honoring his brother, who died in Los Angeles June 25 at the age of 50.

The announcement was made amid reports the siblings' mother, Katherine, disapproved of the event.

Several artists, including Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige and Natalie Cole, whom Jermaine promised would perform at the concert, subsequently told the media they did not plan to take the stage in Vienna.

"Numerous stars were just not able to change their schedules to make a live appearance at the Vienna event possible," E! News quoted Jermaine as saying Friday morning. "Now we have eight months to put this monumental show together and not just eight weeks. ... Many artists and performers who I have spoken to personally told me that it would be a great honor to be part of this memorial concert for my late brother. However, due to the short time frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule … therefore we decided, after careful consideration, to change the date of the tribute concert to June 2010 -- just a few weeks before the first anniversary of his untimely death."

Jackson had been rehearsing for a 50-date residency, which was to begin in July, at the 02 arena in London at the time of his death.
