Abdul wishes DeGeneres luck via Twitter

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul said on her Twitter page she thinks Ellen DeGeneres will make a great judge on the show.

Fox Television Wednesday announced DeGeneres is to join the show next season.

Abdul had previously said she was leaving the singing competition series because she and its producers couldn't agree on the terms of her new contract.

"I think Ellen will be a great judge on 'Idol,'" TVGuide.com quoted Abdul as Tweeting Thursday. "She is wildly funny, talented and I wish her the best of luck!"
