LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- British singer-songwriter Gavin Rossdale is set to guest star on an episode of the U.S. television drama "Criminal Minds," CBS announced.

Rossdale will play a Goth rock star who has become lost in the frightening alter-ego he portrays on stage -- an alter-ego the show's investigative team suspects may be a brutal serial killer, the network said in a release.

The former lead singer of Bush was last seen in the independent feature film "How to Rob a Bank." Previously, he appeared in the movies "Constantine," "Little Black Book" and "Game of their Lives." He recently completed an international tour to support his solo album, "Wunderlust."

Rossdale resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and their two sons.
