Karina and Maksim to dance at Emmys

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff, who recently broke off their engagement, are to dance at the Emmy Awards show in Los Angeles, CBS said.

The "Dancing with the Stars" and "Burn the Floor" professional dancers dated for about a year. Smirnoff's publicist confirmed this week the couple had called off their wedding plans.

However, CBS announced Thursday they are scheduled to dance together in a segment honoring dance in reality television on the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards show at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles Sept. 20.
