TOKYO, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Japan's Prince Hisahito, son of Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko, turned 3 on Sunday, the Imperial Household Agency says.

The imperial agency said Prince Hisahito, the first Imperial Family male heir in 41 years, is healthy and enjoying a lively lifestyle, The Kyodo News reported.

The agency said the child, who reportedly weighs nearly 30 pounds and stands little more than 3 feet tall, is able to change his own clothes and eat by himself.

Hisahito is behind his 43-year-old father and his uncle, Crown Prince Naruhito, 49, Emperor Akihito's eldest son, in line for the Chrysanthemum Throne.
