BOSTON, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Living Colour lead singer Corey Glover says the New York band will soon release its first album in six years.
Glover said while "The Chair in the Doorway" may mark the "Cult of Personality" band's first recording in years, it does not represent a reunion of the group that disbanded 14 years ago, The Boston Globe reported Friday.
"People are under the mistaken impression that this is a reunion or something," Glover said. "They think that when we broke up in 1995 we haven't been together since, but we've been a band all this decade. We've taken time out to do our own things but we've played and worked together."
Glover said "Chair," which is to come out Sept. 15, will reflect his current life, as well as that of guitarist Vernon Reid, bassist Doug Wimbish and drummer Will Calhoun.
"This is much more of a personal record,'' Glover told the Globe. "We sat down and decided to take a hard look at our own lives. This isn't a political record in a broad sense … . We want the songs and lyrics to be a microcosm to the larger picture of what is happening and has happened in the country."
