LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- British filmmaker Guy Ritchie is to follow up his movie "Sherlock Holmes" with a big-screen adaptation of the comic book, "Lobo," Variety reported.

Production on the film about an alien interstellar bounty hunter is slated to begin early next year, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Ritchie, who is perhaps best known as pop star Madonna's ex-husband, previously directed "RocknRolla," "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."
