DALLAS, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- HDNet plans to air "Stephen Fry in America," a six-part documentary series starring the British actor, comedian, writer and TV presenter.

The series is to air Tuesday evenings, beginning Sept. 22.

"He drives a London cab through each of the 50 United States, visiting its landmarks and distinctive sites, looking at each state's unique and quaint customs, talking to its citizens and discovering the true nature of the 50 individual parts that make up the whole," HDNet said in a news release.

Viewers will follow Fry as he makes his way across the country, starting in New England and moving through the South, along the Mississippi, through the Rockies and western states and to the Pacific coast.

"The series, at times hilarious, intriguing, disturbing and enlightening, navigates the topography of our people and landscape," HDNet said.
